Meet Dr. Matthew K. Anderson

Matthew Anderson, O.D., received his Doctor of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, majoring in Biology, Society, and Environment. Dr. Anderson joined Eye Care Specialties in 2024. He focuses on providing primary eye care through comprehensive eye exams, treating and managing ocular diseases, and addressing binocular vision.

While in optometry school, Dr. Anderson participated in vision screenings for the Chicago Public Schools and a community outreach program to assist students in need. He was a Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society member and served as Vice President during his final year at the Illinois College of Optometry.

Dr. Anderson is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Minnesota Optometric Association. He completed externships in Ocular Disease, Surgical Co-management, and Pediatrics at the Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago, Illinois, as well as in Contact Lens and Primary Care at Davis Eye Associates in Winston Salem, North Carolina. He also gained experience in specialty contact lenses at the Cornea and Contact Lens Institute of Minnesota in Edina, Minnesota, and low vision and ocular disease at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Lake City, Florida.

Dr. Anderson and his family reside in Woodbury, Minnesota, where he enjoys spending time with his wife, Karly, and his daughter, Clara. In his free time, he loves golfing, traveling, savoring craft beer, grilling, attending live music, and watching sporting events.
