What is optomap Retinal Imaging?

Your retina (located in the back of your eye) is the only place in the body where blood vessels can be seen directly. This means that in addition to eye conditions, signs of other diseases (for example, stroke, heart disease, hypertension, and diabetes) can also be seen in the retina. Early signs of these conditions can show on your retina long before you notice any changes to your vision or feel pain. While eye exams generally include a look at the front of the eye to evaluate health and prescription changes, a thorough screening of the retina is critical to verify that your eye is healthy. Getting an optomap image is fast, painless, and comfortable. Nothing touches your eye at any time. It is suitable for the whole family. To have the exam, you simply look into the device one eye at a time (like looking through a keyhole) and you will see a flash of light to let you know the image of your retina has been taken. The image capture takes less than half a second and you can view it with your eye care provider.

This place has superb customer service!! We don’t live in the area and we’re on vacation here. ... My wife forgot her contacts back home. Dr Lauermann is fantastic! He makes you feel very calm and comfortable, he has great experience, I h... ave a specific condition and he takes his time, never rushes me. Dr. Lauermann is all around aweosme!!! I was absolutely thrilled with the newest piece of technology... and equipment that is available so they did not have to dilate my eyes or my eye exam. It was well worth the $45 I had to pay. That made my yearly eye exam much more tolerable.

First of all, I arrived at my appointment on the wrong day. I was actually two days early, and the n... ice young lady at the front desk was able to work me in to see someone the same day. I saw Dr Taylor Lauermann. Dr Lauermann was great. He was very personable and professional. I appreciated that during the eye exam he checked both eyes, to see whether or not the oil glands were clogged. Next, he explained the physiology of my eyes, as well as gave me informational on the best over the counter products to use to lessen the severity of my dry eye symptoms. Lastly, I would be remiss if I did not mention the optometric assistance that helped me with picking out new glasses. Her personality was electrifying.
